Beauty Review: Freeman Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal

This product claims to purge pores, firms and smooths.

I love the smell of this product, it reminds me of the Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen. It has a sweet coconut scent. I love it!

The texture is smooth & creamy. The application is so smooth and even. Never experienced any splotchiness or clumps.

I like to refrigerate the mask in the fridge so that it has a cooling effect on the skin.

The mask dries in about 15 minutes, it washes off easily with cold or warm water.

The results:
Baby soft and moisturized skin. This product doesn't cause breakouts. I can't say whether it purges my pores or not, or whether it firms my skin. But it sure makes my skin soft.

Beauty Review: LUSH Helping Hands

I received a sample of this hand cream while purchasing my daily skin care products.

It has a creamy consistency that melts into an oil once it is warmed with body heat. I find this product very greasy but very moisturizing. It made my cuticles look beautiful and makes my nails look like they've had a brand new manicure.

The only thing that I don't like is the greasiness, it stains my clothes and that's not a good thing. I have to blot my hands with a paper towel or tissue before doing anything else just to soak off the excess. I find the smell puts me off, it smells like a stale hand lotion.

I think I would purchase this if I had chronic dry skin, which I do get really dry legs in the winter, so I might buy this and split it with a friend for the winter months. I do recommend this to be used at night after the shower on freshly shaved legs and wear a robe to avoid unpleasant grease stains on your clothes.

Beauty Review: May 2012: Glymm Box

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen the May Glymm Box reveal over youtube and various blogs. So, I am just going to show you what I got. This is my first Glymm box, this is their 'going green' edition, instead of a glossy pink box, it came in a pink makeup bag. I'm hoping this is only for 1 month, as I would not know what to do with multiple makeup bags.

Coola spf 30 Cucumber mineral face sunblock matte finish, hypoallergenic, paraben free (which I like), perfect primer. I definitely need primer for my oily skin, as my makeup tends to slide off my face if I don't use it. Just by reading the description of this product it sounds like a BB Cream. I will have to test it out and let you guys know if I like it. I wish the sample was a little bit bigger so that I could at least get 7-10 days worth of product, that way I could truly see how my problematic skin reacts to it.

I'm very excited about these 3 Caudalie samples that I received this month. I've heard nothing but great reviews on all their products. But most of the great reviews were from gurus with dry and/or normal skin. So I'm not quite sure how my skin will react to these two pyramid samples for sensitive and dehydrated skin. The rose pink pyramid contains Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet for Sensitive Skin. The blush pink pyramid contains Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum for Dehydrated Skin. These are both rather small samples, may only be enough for 1-2 uses, we'll see if it is too oily for my skin or not.The third sample is almost half the size of the full size one. It is the Vinexpert Anti-Ageing Serum for Eyes and Lips. I'm not sure if I will use this for my lips, as I tend to breakout around my lips from my oily skin, not sure how my skin around my lips would react to this product either. I would definitely use this as an eye serum as I do have sensitive dry skin around my eyes, this would be a great way to test out this serum.

This product is a full size sample. I got a Cargo eyeshadow duo in Vienna. It has a beautiful glittery peach and deep plum colour. It is pigmented and the colour is buildable. Great for a daytime smoky eye. This duo retails for $25, which definitely pays for this month Glymm box.
ck one SHOCK for him & for her was received this month. I really like the women's scent. And Beau tried the men's version and he really likes it too. He has officially added this to his cologne collection :) Sorry Beau already took the sample out of the cardboard pamphlet, I couldn't find it anywhere. Hence, there is only a photo of the women's version.

Last but not least NuMe Hydro Punch Hydrating Conditioner, although my scalp gets oily quickly, my hair is still dry and damaged at the ends. This is from years of heat & chemical processing. I will write a review on this sample after a few tries.

Hope you all enjoyed reading my review on the May 2012 Glymm Box. Have a great week and happy reading :)

Newly Discovered Gluten Free Goodies

I am in love with these Wow cookies they are so delicious. The soft and gooey texture is to die for and as a bonus the flavours are light and super buttery. I wish the spices would be a bit stronger. But what the heck they are like gooey butter shortbread and I love 'em! I got them at Fred Meyers in the Organics aisle for $2.49 each.

Next up, a tin of Jennies coconut macaroons. Gluten & Dairy free which suits my lifestyle, as readers may not know I have Celiac Disease. So I cannot consume wheat, barley or rye products. Also I am allergic to dairy, which is a complete bummer because I really love cheese.

Ok back on topic about these macaroons, they are nothing fancy, they are just golden pyramids of chewy, coconutty (lol) sweetness. They are delicious and I find them to be very filling. They are not like the French style macaron in their beautiful colours, flavours and cream fillings. These are the plain OL' but yummy home style coconut macaroons.

I hope you enjoyed my two yummy finds. Until next time, eat yummies and be jolly :) 😘

Gluten Free Alcoholic Beverages

(Top) Taste like champagne, similar to Strongbow Cider. I first tried this cider at the Taphouse Grill in Seattle. I really love this :) (Bottom) Taste like a cross breed of cider and wheat ale (but it does not contain wheat).

Seattle: Beauty Haul

Out the Door Top Coat 73mL 2.5 fl oz. Best Top Coat ever, I apply this every 3 days after my french tip manicures and it helps prolong the life of my manicures (results 2-3 weeks with some touch ups)

NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder, great for a foundation setting powder.

Sephora R21 Ingenuous Lipstick in cream formula. I've been searching high and low for a perfect pink nude colour for my 'no makeup' makeup look.

NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder, also used to set foundation, but is in a more compact and less messy packaging.

Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer, has a non-greasy liquid gel form. Apply after moisturizer and before make up for a smooth finish. I will write a review on this NEW purchase after a month's use.

FRESH mini lip duo, I was surprised by Rita (MUA) at Sephora by this birthday freebie. I will test these out and write a review on the product after some use.
Market Lavender Body Butter, OMG love this body butter, it's not greasy formula leaves my skin super soft. I believe the lady said she only sells her products at the Pike Place Market.
eos Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew, love the smell and the packaging, I had to get it. Also an e.l.f. Contour brush for my crease shadow and blending.

Fashion & Lifestyle Favourites for May

http://offsite2.seriousshops.com/53/95/9566/9566_main_250x250.jpgLoving this clear plastic BPA free re-useable cup with straw combo. I think it really helps me drink more water also. It reminds me of my childhood, the good ol' fountain drink. Sippy cup for adults.

Am I the only one that missed the Aldo boot sale? Well technically I didn't miss it, they just sold out of my style and size of boots. But I managed to snag these hot neon pink flats from the outlet on Granville. They were on sale for $30 what a Steal :)

I'm obsessed over these BB Begonia re-usable shopping bags, they're great for carrying groceries, library books to your gym clothes. They are super light weight and sturdy. They also fold up into a small bundle that you can stash into your purse.

I'm currently liking this game, it reminds me of digital pictionary. Am I totally aging myself or giving off hints of what my age is or what? I do love this game, as I love drawing. I just wish some of my opponents wouldn't cheat and write the word out *shrug* but hey, it's just a game. :) Come find me on Draw Something: DontWayMe

Another favourite in the game category. Tiny Tower reminds me of Sims. I really enjoy the simplicity of this cyber community. You can play with your friends too. Come find me on Tiny Tower: vivi0514

Ipod/Iphone application that I have been loving for a while now. Instagram, you take quick snap shots and you can use the built in filters to enhance the photo, you can do some simple editing. Simple and perfect for me. I'm loving it :) Come find me on Instagram: @maydaychic

Above the Timberline has the most beautiful lyrics I've ever read. I'm really liking this album. :)

I get a little tired
Looking through the trees
Sitting on the 405
Hoping for a breeze

Everybody's gunning
You got something to see
I gotta sell this ticket
Get the shadow off of me

So what is your problem
You been moping around
You need to find a mountaintop
And get out of this town

She says sometimes
You gotta get away
Clear out that noggin
Open up the day

Above the timberline
The higher I go, the harder I climb
I'm closer to you
it's clear in my mind
Love shines bright
above the timberline

Things get slower
When it's harder to breath
I can almost touch the stars
That are hanging over me

You've never been more beautiful
And it's easy to see
All that really matters
you're all I'll ever need
I'm getting to the home
At the top of the world
Leading to realities
Up down at the curb

Oh the noise between us,
Now it can't be heard
I'm listening to the wind
I'm writing down the words

Above the timberline
The higher I go, the harder I climb
I'm closer to you
it's clear in my mind
Love shines bright
above the timberline

Now I'll be coming home,
I'll be coming home soon
Before I head on down
I'm gonna kiss the moon

Above the timberline
The higher I go, the harder I climb
I'm closer to you
it's clear in my mind
Love shines bright
above the timberline

Above the timberline
No heading up race, no
waiting in line
The farther I go
The harder you climb
Love shines bright
above the timberline

Music Review: Ben's Brother

I watched this UK soulful band about 4 years ago at the Media Club located Downtown Vancouver. This was an opening band for A Fine Frenzy. I was mesmerized by their catchy music and voice of the lead singer Jamie Hartmann.

These soulful tunes are all self-written by Hartmann, if you truly love the songs, you should read the lyrics. The lyrics are simply meaningful and beautiful.

My recommended songs I Am Who I Am, Find Me an Angel and Kiss Me Again (Stuttering). Looking forward to seeing yet another amazing performance from this band. I <3 Ben's Brother :)

I Am Who I Am

No I don't mind if you think I should grow my hair
And no I don't mind if you pick out the clothes I wear
But know I can keep my head when all around me are losing theirs
Because

I am who I am, and you can't change me
I've done what I can, now I'll stand my ground
You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me
It all falls down,
It all falls down

Why when you dream do you see me as something I'm not?
Why don't you wake up and see all the good things you've got?
A heart isn't made out of clay
Not something you shape with your hands
Understand

I am who I am, and you can't change me
I've done what I can, now I'll stand my ground
You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me
It all falls down,
It all falls down

Is the reason you ask me to change so that you'll stay the same?
Well I'm sorry if I keep disappointing you again and again
But

I am who I am, and you can't change me
I've done what I can, now I'll stand my ground
You're tying my hands if you re-arrange me
It all falls down,
It all falls down
It all falls down
It all falls down
It all falls down
I am who I am

Mission Springs Brewing Company

Mission Springs Brewing Company
Happy Mother's Day to everyone on this sunny and warm day. It finally feels like summer. Today I had a wonderful brunch buffet at the Mission Springs Brewing Company. As usual the spread of food was amazing, on today's menu: Eggs Benedict, Enchiladas, Bacon, Sausage, Dill seasoned chilled shrimp & salmon, omelets made to order, Roast beef and the list goes on and on. The selection of fresh fruit, pastries and freshly made waffles were a hot seller for the kids as well. If you're ever looking for a great place for a breakfast buffet or brunch, here's the spot to be if you're out by Mission, BC.

Music Review: Local Talent Tiffany Desrosiers Worth the Applause

Source: tiffanydesrosiers.com
Local Talent: Tiffany Desrosiers
This 25 year old hidden gem won the 1st Annual Langley Has Talent Competition last spring. Since then she has been touring around Canada & the United States. Rise Above has become a great hit on YouTube. This Saturday night (May 5.) she will be preforming at Christian Life Assembly.

This divine cross breed voice of Minogue/Aguilera/Braxton was such a surprise in the first annual Langley Has Talent competition last spring. She's got a beautiful wide range. For instance in The World to Me she has an wholesome voice like Christina Aguilera's. In her new single High brings electrical notes to resemble those of Kylie Minogue. After the Rain & Rise Above full of feeling and hope, the sorrowful voice reminds me of one of my childhood loves Toni Braxton.

Can't wait for Desrosiers to be back in Canada and playing for us once again. She is currently on tour in the United States. Meanwhile if you would like to listen to clips of Desrosiers' songs, you can go to her website at: www.tiffanydesrosiers.com where the songs can be previewed and purchased. The song are also available on iTunes.
